When we think about meditation, what comes first to mind, is a completely still, monk like being, seated cross-legged, exuding an otherworldly state of consciousness. Immediately, this seems like a far-off goal for most of us on the planet. We might try a few guided mediations and feel a touch of the peace and calm we yearn for, but that usually but dissipates soon after the meditation session ends, as we are thrust back into the daily grind. Meditation should not be some goal we wish to reach, and subconsciously, we enter the practice feeling like we will never get there, or we desperately cling to that release, we turn it into yet another race to win, a goal to achieve.

Meditation is not just a good idea, it is not a luxury, it is needed now more than ever before. I probably don’t have to highlight that modern man is his most disconnected and dysregulated at this point in time, than ever before and is steadily racing in the wrong direction, going in circles.

Most technological advances take us further away from our ourselves and our consciousness, it is our consciousness that connects us to our souls, and the unique guidance that can only be channeled when the noise of the outer world is shut out. There are different ways and methods of meditation, all of which have their place and purpose, and are a means to live in mindful awareness. We can do anything meditatively, with presence, and in coherence with our hearts. Meditation is a means of connection and flow. It takes us out of the stress state, the state in which the sympathetic nervous system is activated. The effects of the hormones released during this state, cortisol and adrenalin, create a host of negative effects on the physical body and impact our mental, emotional and psychological health. We were never designed to live in this state of stress, this activation was the mechanism that we were given to help us survive life-threatening situations, by fighting or fleeing. Living in perpetual stress will catch up to you, and lead to living in the freeze state. The nervous system must be reset, meditation is a means to not only recalibrate and bring the system back to homeostasis but to create a more balanced, stable and resilient baseline from which to operate. It’s like a muscle that grows with consistency.

There are various levels of activation, sometimes, sitting down to focus on your breathing when the nervous system is in a highly aroused state will only cause it to rev up more. Mediation must be experienced, it is not something that can be read about, or studied, it is a way of being. What is a guided meditation class?
A guided meditation class is led by a trained professional coach. Whether you are an experienced meditator, or have never tried it before, joining a guided meditation class allows one to tap into a collective consciousness. This allows the meditator to access a higher, more connected frequency of energy, that transcends space and time.
Find Your Light has created a unique class that has merged the ancient wisdom modalities studied and embodied by the founder, into a class that transports the meditator away from the stress states of fear, anger, danger, insecurity and anxiety that modern life throws at us daily. You enter the calm, safe, relaxed levels of consciousness that breath health, balance, love, light, joy, connection and unity awareness into our being.
Meditation exists outside of space and time, and is therefore not governed by these restrictions, physical proximity makes no difference. When you meditate, you enter the quantum field. We have incarnated into this wonderful age of technology that allows us to connect instantly across oceans and timelines, allowing us to connect collectively in convenience, we must take full advantage of this magical time in humanity, where so much is taken for granted. There are no rules in mediation, it speaks to the Spirit, the effectiveness is felt.
You will require a quiet space, preferably where you will be undisturbed for thirty minutes and an internet connection. Headphones are also helpful, but not essential.
